Embodied Coaching
Do you struggle with what, when, and/or how much to eat? Obsess over calorie content, nutritional value, and "super" foods? Or maybe you're thinking about food all the time – like what you’re having for dinner while you’re eating lunch? Are you tired of food? The shopping, the prepping, the cooking, the eating? Find yourself ordering take out more often than you'd like and feeling a loss of control and/or ownership over your meals?
I've done that. And sometimes I still do.
Maybe mealtime was fraught with dysfunction. Your portions were scrutinized. Your body was criticized. Sitting down at the table with your abuser was a terrifying experience. And yet, there you were, day after day, meal after meal, trying to chew and swallow and keep yourself safe.
I can empathize. And maybe even relate.
I am not a dietician. Or a psychotherapist. I am someone who has done, and continues to do, the work that it takes to befriend my body, and subsequently, my relationship to food. It’s a slow road. And it tastes pretty good, too.
Embodied coaching is not a substitute for medical or mental health care. I am not providing any health care, medical or nutrition therapy services, or attempting to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any physical, mental, or emotional disease or condition. I will always exercise my best efforts, skills, and care. If an issue is beyond my scope of practice, I will refer you to the appropriate professionals.
